A tiny exotic!

Mesa Veterinary Hospital is one of the top small animal and exotic practices in Denver.  Our doctors routinely sit on the board of the Denver Area Veterinary Medical Society, having held positions as Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, West Area Director, Chairman of the Explorer Scouts Program, Chairman of the Pet Loss Support Committee, and many others.

Our doctors each belong to the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association, the Denver Area Veterinary Medical Society, and the American Animal Hospital Association.  Each individual doctor also belongs to special associations such as the American Veterinary Society for Animal Behavior, the Association of Avian Veterinarians and the American Association for Feline Practitioners.

This is important to the pet owner since it shows our commitment to veterinary medicine and allows each doctor to remain at the very top of the profession within our practice.  We have been on our present site since 1974 and our doctors represent more than a combined 80 years in veterinary medicine.  That kind of experience in medicine and surgery is hard to find.  When you come to Mesa Veterinary Hospital, you receive all of that skill and knowledge and you will obtain multiple doctor review of the most difficult cases.  In other words we welcome and subscribe to the theory of second opinions and we feel that it helps the animals in the best way.

We are one of the very few hospitals with trained veterinary assistants in the rooms and Certified Veterinary Technicians in the surgery and treatment areas.  We also have 24 hour care with trained personnel providing around the clock care for your pets.

Our life long goal is to practice the highest quality medicine and surgery and to treat every animal as if it were our own.

We consider our staff to be the tops in the country.  We have only fully Certified Veterinary Technicians (veterinary nurses) providing the care for your pets at Mesa Veterinary Hospital.  These technicians trained for years at schools to learn how to draw blood, take x-rays, perform ECGs, dentistry, anesthesia and even assist the doctors in surgeries.  Our technicians are very experienced and have been with us for many years providing the animals with the best veterinary care possible.

Our front end staff is trained to help you and your pets come to MVH to be seen by our doctors seven days a week.  These Client Service Representatives have all of the information to help your visit be planned and on time.  Emergencies are unavoidable in our world, but these skilled people can arrange for another of our six doctors to help you during your visit should your doctor become unavoidably detained.

As a pet owner, you will notice that the veterinarians on staff routinely use animal assistants in the examination rooms.  We prefer our assistants to hold the animals and help clients with questions concerning nutrition and pet care.  This allows our clients to focus on information the doctors dispense rather than having to worry about holding their pets.
