The
Best and Most Up To Date Equipment
Mesa Veterinary Hospital is a
4 year certified hospital in the American Animal Hospital Association.
This means we must keep up with the latest in veterinary equipment and
supplies. Below you can see some pictures of a few of our routine
machines and equipment. Just click on the thumbnail pictures.
These are our downstairs runs. We have 12 downstairs and 9 upstairs with
two unheated runs enclosed behind the treatment area for dogs who are mainly
outside pets. Our runs have special sealed poured epoxy floors to make them
easier to clean and impervious to bacteria.
Our avian and exotic isolation room is second to none! We have a custom
made 8 position Snyder Isolation Cage which allows each patient to breathe only
the air provided in the ward rather than "second hand" air from other
animals. In other words each isolet is under negative pressure which keeps
patients from spreading airborne diseases.
This is one of many pediatric infusion pumps which we use to provide a constant
amount of fluids to the patients at all times. This type of pump is
essential to provide the fluid rates demanded by tiny patients.
Here is a view of our new electronic dry laboratory area with a complete in house chemistry unit.
It is designed to run multiple simultaneous chemistries as well as hemograms and blood
electrolytes which are then automatically placed into the patient's record.
This is a video otoscopy machine which allows our doctors to look into ears, to
look through the microscopes or to look through any of our fiber optics scopes
and see the images on the enlarged TV screen. We can capture pictures with
this unit as well. This is an important tool to follow a case's progress
or to diagnose disease in difficult to visualize places.
Our new radiology equipment takes advantage of the Computerized Radiography
System which allows us to view all of our radiographs at any of the 42 computer
stations all over the hospital. We can manipulate the pictures to allow
us to highlight and view parts of the films which were difficult to see in the
old fashioned wet processed, developed films of yesteryear. This also
allows us to show our clients their animal's radiographs nearly immediately
after the radiographs are taken. We like to keep our owners as informed as
possible.
Here is just a small sampling of the many textbooks in our library. We
must continually read and study to keep up with the ever changing world of
veterinary medicine.
Our Dental Radiology is centered between two of our dental tables. We have
a dedicated room for dentistry procedures, and all of the equipment to perform
everything from cleaning to root canals.
We routinely perform ultrasound procedures at the hospital to delineate lesions
which have no other way of being found in the body, such as foreign material in
the intestine, tumors within the organs or heart conditions which require
specific medications. Here is a sample of one of our procedures early this
year.
One of our 7 exam rooms which are very comfortable. We have dedicated
exams for both cats and dogs and we can isolate disease situations for clean up
on the sealed, epoxy grouted floor tile. The tile is textured, as well,
for easy walking for our large canine patients. The cat rooms never have
dogs in them which could contribute to anxiety in our feline patients. We
also have a comfort exam room which is used for special procedures such as
acupuncture.
