Our Specialists

At Mesa Veterinary Hospital we have a team of specialists who regularly visit to aid us in bringing advanced care to your pets.  We consider them all part of the Mesa family!

Charles Pugh, DVM, DACVRDr Charles Pugh

Dr. Charles Pugh is considered one of the top radiologists in the country.  He has been coming to Mesa Veterinary Hospital for over 20 years.  Mesa is fortunate to have access to his expertise on a weekly basis.  Routine ultrasounds are scheduled on Thursdays and all of our radiographs are also reviewed at this time.

Dr Karen Sanderson
Karen Sanderson, DVM, DACVIM (Cardiology)

Mesa is fortunate to have Dr. Sanderson attend to our cardiology cases here at MVH.  At least 2 times per month she visits our practice and performs echocardiograms (ultrasound of the heart) and cardiology consults.  She is board certified in internal medicine with specialty in cardiology.  Dr. Sanderson runs Rocky Mountain Veterinary Cardiology and is one of the owners of Alpenglow Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Service.

Dr. Carrie GinieczkiCarrie (Van De Wiele) Ginieczki, DVM, MS, DACVIM (Cardiology)

Dr. Ginieczki also cares for our cardiac patients here at MVH.  She received her DVM from Texas A&M, and did her residency at Purdue where she was thoroughly trained in echocardiography, the clinical discipline of veterinary cardiology, and catheter-based techniques that offer minimally invasive options at correcting congenital heart disease. She has performed research and published articles related to many aspects of veterinary cardiology. Topics she has covered include therapy for Atrial Fibrillation, anticoagulant therapy and pacemaker patients. Although she enjoyed her research, she is much happier pursuing her primary interest of helping family veterinarians and pet owners diagnose and treat their pets with heart disease. She has a special interest in the clinical treatment of Congestive Heart Failure, Congenital Heart Disease and Electrophysiology (including the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias).  She visits Mesa Veterinary twice monthly to perform echocardiograms and cardiology consultations.
